Eddie Bauer Rocks

For Christmas I bought a couple of gadgets for Jordon from Eddie Bauer and one of them didn’t work.  I took is back right after Christmas and they were sold out which wasn’t a big deal.  Well it wasn’t a big deal for me but the women in front of me was livid over something that was her fault and was taking it out on the cashier.  I waited her out, made some jokes with the cashier about working retail and instead of exchanging my gift, she gave me a gift card for the price which was fine (I had lost the receipt).  Because I was pleasant to her, I also got a 20% of gift card to use later which was really nice.

Jordon and I were in Midtown Plaza today and we went in to see if Jordon wanted anything.  They had $5 Eddie Bauer t-shirts and he found a wrist strap he wanted for biking at night.  As we were walking out Jordon said to me that he thinks it sucks that you have to “reward” people for being decent to you and I think it is the other way around.  I think it it is a nice reward for staff to give a gift card to someone that is nice to you.  You can’t be miserable to those that are mean to you but it feels good when someone is nice to you and you can thank you for treating me with some respect and decency (unlike the last idiot who just tore me a new one).

Either way, Jordon got what he wanted and I was able to get a nice t-shirt out of it.
