While watching Cam Broten’s video on why he is running again, he mentions Tommy Douglas.  Jordon’s grandfather was a much loved and revered Free Methodist and Nazarene pastor his entire life and would not say who he ever voted for except that he would never vote CCF or NDP.  The reason he would not was not because of policy differences but because one time he went to hear Tommy Douglas speak at a campaign rally that was on a Sunday.  Not only was the campaign rally on a Sunday, Douglas apparently told a slightly dirty joke (according to Jordon’s uncle).  The combination of the two things (and probably Douglas being Baptist didn’t help) was enough that he never voted NDP ever again.  It still cracks me up.
